Pooya Razi
Iranian
Pooya Razi (b. 1984, Tehran) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, short film, and video art. He is a graduate of the Art University of Tehran. His moving-image works are strongly shaped by his background as a painter, resulting in a visually driven practice that moves fluidly between cinematic and gallery contexts.
Razi has held solo painting exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions internationally, including in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Dubai, and Cyprus. His video works and short films have been presented at major international festivals such as the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (France), Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (Montreal), Glasgow Short Film Festival (Scotland), and the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen (Germany).
He was nominated for the Grand Prize at the 60th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen (2015) and received the Jury Special Mention for Best Music Video at the 67th edition of the festival (2021).
